The goal for the brand was to acquire a strong, distinctive identity and to display high quality content to win over its discerning readers, both locals and visitors.
Detailed research and experimentation with symbols, colours and fonts combined with in-depth prototyping of alternative layouts created the basis for constructive discussions with the editorial team and a smooth implementation process.
Mykonos is an island with a strong identity. We approached the design with the intention to keep a balance between locality and universality while creating a strong symbol that stands out in the crowd and illustrates the premium quality of the brand.
As nothing expresses identity more profoundly than the stories of people in their physical environment, we chose the famous Mykonian pelican, the beloved and popular mascot from the 50’s, as a strong symbol of location.
